DoDEA Grant Over the next two weeks, we will be conducting a Climate Survey with Boise State University to help assess the perceived school climate among students in Grades 3-12. The purpose of the survey is to create a baseline to measure the progress over the next five years and beyond with the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. The Goal of PBIS is to provide school wide social, emotional and mindfulness (SEM) program for K-12 students through professional development and technical assistance offered through Boise State Univeristy’s Idaho Positive Behavior Network (IPBN). The Mountain Home School District is able to fund this project through a five-year $1.5 million grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). We are currently in year one, which focuses on planning, the next three years is set for implementation while the last year is designed for sustaining beyond year five. More information will be available about PBIS and how it will be implemented with your child’s school when students return from summer break. The School Climate Survey: Elementary is an anonymous survey used to identify school climate issues within our school. The survey for elementary school students includes 11 questions and should take no more than 10-15 to complete (copy attached). The survey is anonymous, but parents / guardians have the option to opt out if desired by completing the attached Elementary Opt Out form and returning it to your student’s school no later than Monday, May 8th, 2017.

The day started with a science filled assembly and was followed by hands on experiments in both a classroom and the bus. A huge thanks to our Hacker PTT for bringing this great event to our school for our students to enjoy!
